You reply to this email, and I will donate to Uzazi Village, an organization that works to support Black and Brown mothers to have healthy babies.
Uzazi Village addresses the inequities in maternal health care that Black and Brown women face due to systemic racism. Because of racism and unconscious or conscious biases on the part of doctors, nurses, and others in the healthcare system, Black women are 3 times as likely to die from complications from pregnancy and birth.
Uzazi Village provides peer support and educational programming. It empowers women to be in charge of their own reproductive life.And if you send me your street address and birthday date, I will send you a birthday card when the time comes next year! You’ll get an ink-on-paper experience!
Next year, I will start sending out a brief email newsletter each week. Once a week. That’s all. I’m scared. Seriously. Please help me with some topics you’d like me to write about.
