It's A Puzzle!
Could be my ADHD, making me susceptible to the biggest distraction yet...
I’m having the hardest time making myself write and post. You know when you want to put something out there, and you draft it, and it doesn’t look right, so you let it sit, and then you look at it again, and it still doesn’t look right…
I had three migraines last week. That definitely stopped me somewhat. But after the migraines were over, I felt really good.
Why couldn’t I? Why couldn’t I just write something and post?
Because every time I walked by my dining room, there on the table sat a box.
And in that box was a puzzle from Liberty Puzzles, in Boulder, Colorado. The puzzle was called “Who Wants Cake?” and my brother, Paul, and his wife, Cathy, sent it to me for my birthday this year.
The puzzle inside was slightly bigger than 10 ’’ x 10 ’’. And I opened the box, dumped the pieces out, and whoa!!! They were tiny. And some of the pieces were shaped like people, some like things you might find around cakes. Starbursts of some kind (or maybe splatters).
So I started this puzzle. And I put it on a piece of cardboard to work on it, but then, every time I went past the dining room, I would come back, lured by the puzzle.
And time would just fly away. 1
I then found a foldable table, set it up in another room, set up extra lighting, and brought the puzzle there.
I thought, “Now I will have to make an appointment with myself to get to the table and work on the puzzle.”
But now, it’s in the room where we watch TV… and we eat some meals down there too…
But finally, we finished it last night.

When life hands you puzzles, share the solving! My husband, Scott Emmons, helped immensely with putting together this puzzle. If you like ancient history, check out his Substack and podcast, Epic Greek History!
One more thing, paid subscribers get to do Co-Working and we currently have two sessions going: Wednesday at 1pm Central and Thursday at 11am Central. If you are interested, message me using the button below.
I thought this was as good a spot as any to place a footnote, but I don’t have anything I actually want to say right now. Thank you for indulging me.

You are hereby allowed to work on a puzzle instead of writing/posting articles. Especially with three migraines! Good grief! Love the foot note psych!
What a cool puzzle! I'll check out Epic Greek History, because I'm looking forward to seeing the Odyssey movie this July.
