The Z Words Seal of Zeal!!

Stories and authors and stuff that I feel are so noteworthy, they deserve an award!

The awards go to…

1. Dawn Downey, is an author here on Substack, and she also has books out in the world:
   Stumbling Toward The Buddha (which will be out in its 10th Anniversary Edition in July!!) and Blindsided: Essays from the Only Black Woman in the Room. And other works!
   One of her Substack essays was both funny and edgily sad at the same time, but the laughter made me want to give Dawn an award, and I proposed, in a comment, “I’d give you the Z Words Seal of Zeal!”
   I regret that neither Dawn nor I remember which one that was or I’d link to it here.
   I recommend subscribing and reading Dawn’s work here and elsewhere. But if you’re here, here is a start.

2. Then I felt that I had to create an image and I asked for help and Marleen Martinez answered the call!
   From the moment we had our first call, I knew she was the right one to work with. Marleen is creative. She explains her process with clarity. She is kind and considerate. Both of us had time constraints. And she took all my requests and made my dream come true! Now isn’t that seal cute?

Each winner will receive in the mail, a handwritten note and a few stickers with the cute seal. And bragging rights, of course! And I intend to award a Seal of Zeal once a month.
