Dawn Downey's Teachable Moments ... well, I learn something almost every time I read Dawn's blog. And I feel it as I read. When I read about her experiences being the only Black person in a yoga class or an authors' reading, I feel jittery, shivery. I learn how uncomfortable feeling different is -- in a way I've never experienced before. And because her prose is thoughtful and clear from beginning to end. I recommend Dawn's work because she inspires me every time I read her work!
You can tell David Lesky is a Royals fan. He does not cut the organization any slack! That's one reason I like his work. I also find his calm reporting of the team's wins and losses and the detail he puts into them rich in information. I learn a lot reading his work.
